Michaeline Jensen, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Psychology in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Studying how teens connect 💬
Research that meets young people where they talk.

Michaeline studies how parents, peers, neighborhoods, and culture shape adolescent mental health and substance use. Her work also develops and evaluates family-focused prevention programs for Latino families.
Young people increasingly stay connected through phones and online spaces. By studying these everyday exchanges, Michaeline examines how technology relates to relationships, mental health, and substance use. Phone-based surveys and text-message analysis help her capture interactions that traditional surveys may miss.
She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2016 and her Bachelor’s from the University of Arizona in 2008.
