MICHAELINE JENSEN

Associate Professor, Psychology 

​Michaeline earned her Ph.D. in Psychology in 2016 from Arizona State University, and completed her Bachelor's at the University of Arizona in 2008.  Her research focuses on the role of social contexts in adolescent development, with an emphasis on using novel tools to understand the parent-child relationship and the cultural environments within which these relationships are embedded. 

MARIANI WEINSTEIN

Mariani Weinstein, M.A., is a graduate student in UNCG's clinical psychology Ph.D. program.  She completed her B.A in Psychology at Northwestern University as a QuestBridge College Match Scholar. Her specific research interests are in the intersection of family relationships, psychopathology, and culture, with a focus on the Latinx community. Her goal is to contribute to the development of culturally-tailored and accessible interventions for underserved youth, so they can develop into emotionally- and socially-fulfilled adults.

GREG CHASE

Graduate RA

Greg Chase, M.A. is a graduate student in UNCG’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2020 as a Moeur Award recipient where he was the undergraduate lab manager of the @HEART Lab under the direction of Dr. Thao Ha. He then worked as a research specialist in the iHOTT Lab at San Diego State University under the direction of Dr. Keith Horvath. His specific research interests are in adolescent development at the intersection of digital technology/social media use, sexual and gender minority health, social relationships, and problem behaviors. His goal is to pursue a career in academia to continue his line of research on digital peer relations and mentor the next generation of psychologists.

KARINA SEEBALUCK

Karina Seebaluck, B.A., is a graduate student in UNCG’s clinical psychology Ph.D. program. She completed her B.A.’s in Psychology & Spanish Language and Literature with minors in Nonprofit Studies and Cognitive Science at North Carolina State University. Her specific research interests involve parent-child relationships and communication in the context of immigrant families, acculturation, and how technology can help/hurt parent-child dyads living apart. Karina aspires to both research and provide culturally-sensitive interventions for underserved youth and parents. Outside of research, Karina enjoys working out, cooking new recipes, spending time with her family, and reading.

JASPER YING

Jasper Ying, M.A. is a graduate student in UNCG’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. He completed his B.A.s in Psychology and Philosophy at Boston College in 2021. As a William Wilsoncroft Awardee, he graduated from California State University, Northridge’s Psychological Science M.A. program in 2025 where he was a graduate research assistant for the REACH Lab mentored by Dr. Sara R. Berzenski, and the SPADE Lab under the primary mentorship of Dr. Abraham M. Rutchick. His specific research interests include the roles/influences of social connection/disconnection (e.g., loneliness) and interactive technology usage (particularly large-language-model artificial intelligence) on psychopathology and well-being across the lifespan/groups. As an aspiring clinician and research scientist, Jasper’s goal is to further relevant clinical and developmental understandings as to how sociality and technologies function within and affect dynamic human ecologies.

JULIA DRAFZ

Julia is currently a Senior at UNCG, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. After completing her B.A. in Psychology, she plans on getting a PH.D in Psychology and opening up her own practice. She wants to work with adolescence and specialize in mood disorders, trauma substance use. Julia loves to run, sing, create art, read, go outdoors, and spend time with her dog Millie. 

JOSEPH STRUZINSKI

Joseph is currently a senior student at UNCG, majoring in Psychology on the Pre-Med track. His main goals/interest reside in clinical psychology honing in on Psychiatric Care. After completion of his Bachelors, he plans to go onto a Medical School program in Psychiatry. He likes to play video games for the eSports team at UNCG, hang out with friends, and go on adventurous hikes!

ALEJANDRO ROBLES

Alejandro is currently a senior at UNCG majoring in psychology. His research interests are at the intersection of technology and social/developmental psychology. After graduation, his plans are to pursue his PhD and further expand upon the burgeoning field of cyberpsychology. When he's not reading research papers, Alejandro can be found watching anime, spoiling his three cats, playing video games, and making art.

Asha Ballard is currently a junior at UNCG getting her bachelor's in psychology. Her main interest is clinical psychology. When she completes her bachelor's she wants to go on and get my PsyD in clinical psychology. She have two cats and loves watching crime documentaries. ​
